Airplane Beauty Regimen for Long Trips
March 18, 2016
Have you ever been so excited to be on vacation and got overwhelmed with all the planning, packing, organizing to the point that you actually became stressed out? Come on, vacations are supposed to be relaxing and exciting. There’s nothing worse than realizing you look exhausted in all of your vacation pictures, so we would like to dispense a little piece of advice that can go a long way!
If you are flying to Orlando to stay with us at The Enclave Suites, you will probably have some time to kill during your flight, and that is a golden relaxing time that most everyone forget to take advantage of. So here’s a list of a few things you can do during your flight to arrive looking and feeling fresh at your vacation destination.
Moisturize
Forfeit the makeup and bring in a few face wipes and your favorite travel sized face moisturizer and eye cream. Take some time to create your own little spa and allow your skin to drink up the moisture while you read your favorite book or magazine. It’ll only take a few minutes to apply it and it will do wonders for your skin. The air inside an aircraft lacks moisture and can be very drying and can leave your skin looking dull in just a few hours, so counteract that with a quick moisturizer regimen.
Hydrate
Drink plenty of water to keep you hydrated from the inside out. No moisturizer in the world can make your skin look flawless if you are actually dehydrated, so fill out a bottle of water and make sure you drink it all before disembarking the plane. How much water you should aim to drink will depend on the length of your trip. But set a high goal to really be able to see the difference!
Take a nap
If you are traveling with your family, try to plan ahead and bring enough activities and distractions to keep the kids occupied. If they refuse to nap with you, take turns between parents/guardians so each of you can rest a bit.
Lip service
Don’t forget to treat your lips. Apply a generous coat of your favorite lip balm to avoid getting chapped lips that will stick to you for a whole vacation. Again, the dry cabin air is merciless. Trust us, this simple step can make a big difference.
Tie it up
Don’t kid yourself when you see celebrities debarking a plane with perfect, voluminous, bouncy hair after a 6-hour flight. They didn’t naturally come out looking flawless without a little touch up. Try styling your hair in a way that won’t get messed up easily if you tie it up during your flight. Use a soft hair band that won’t make your hair crease and pack a small sized dry shampoo or even a bit of baby powder in your carry-on bag. Then lightly sprinkle a tiny bit on the roots of your hair to soak up the oils in your scalp and give you back some volume.
Voilá! You just made it to your destination looking ready for an adventure-filled day of rides, shows and magic! We hope to see you soon at The Enclave Suites.
